Naharnet Newsdesk

“Maharat” and the “Censorship Observatory “will be holding a press conference Thursday to launch a draft law on “Freedom of Cinematographic works” and to legally study the Censorship law.

The conference aims to inform the public opinion on the content of the study and the draft law, as well as to hold a public debate on the reality of censorship on Lebanon and the need to put appropriate legislations which would give freedom for Film work in Lebanon.

Journalist Pierre Abi Saab will present the censorship dilemma as well as the aspirations, while Hanan Hajj will talk on behalf of the Censorship Observatory, and Aline Farah on behalf of “Maharat.”

This conference comes as a result of cooperation between the two organizations in order to expand the discussion on the censorship draft law and to advocate its adoption in the Parliament at a later stage.
